And...Thank you very much for the compliment Marie! And you're right, the view that Christianity has of women was the final straw for me.

I live in a mostly agnostic world these days. Even my parents, though they may have their own faith, don't really get into organized religion and choose to just be good people on their own.

Haha I loved that SNL clip about abortions and morning after pills being like Starbucks. And you never have to apologize for long comments - I'm a rambler myself :-DAnnie Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07483761744957186170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4982965360329656723.post-12206548368318195542012-11-24T07:29:47.038-06:002012-11-24T07:29:47.038-06:00Just reading through some of your old post cause q...Just reading through some of your old post cause quite simply, you are a great and entertaining writer and this post was just purely awesome and so true!!! Agree with absolutely everything and I'm so relieved that Mitt and his crazy ways was not let into power in this election as that would just taken back years and years. I know I don;t live in the States but it makes me angry that any country has this extreme views in politics. The views on same sex marriage and the female role/rules/restrictions etc is the main reasons why I could never agree with religion.

Luckily religion isn't that big in Sweden and my parents are not interested in religion so was never a problem. They did baptise me just cause it's what you do but I chose to not do the confirmation in my teens and the day I turned 18, I actively left the church (which you are automatically joined when you've been baptised) and my family followed shortly after.

And don't get me started on the whole contraceptives and abortion thing, if men gave birth, this so wouldn't even be up for discussion. Like that episode on SNL, there would be the morning after pills available in every Starbucks in different flavours and everything. Apologies for the long comment but these topics have the side effect that I don't know when to shut up! :)Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13555762890133211547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4982965360329656723.post-59045272604045510812012-11-07T10:51:33.905-06:002012-11-07T10:51:33.905-06:00I used to be a BIG evangelical Christian (much to ...I used to be a BIG evangelical Christian (much to my mother's chagrin) but when I got older and really started learning...whoa buddy did I realize how blind I'd been.
